Travis Almany married far above is head in 1992. His wonderful wife, Becky, has made a concerted effort to make better decisions for the subsequent 34 years. He is a game master in an escape room in Breckenridge, Colorado where he once accidentally locked himself in a closet. It took him about 30 minutes to realize the irony of the situation. He enjoys spending most of his time looking for something he just had. Sometimes he finds it in his hand.
Travis has been accused of impersonating a euphonium player. (Editor’s note: A euphonium is a brass instrument that looks like a small tuba and plays in the range of a trombone. It is most often used in concert and brass bands. This is much to the consternation of band directors everywhere.) Travis had a roughly 30-year layoff from actively performing on the euphonium due to his career. His playing ability suffered: however, he still dreams of his heyday when he was mediocre.
Travis’s other musical endeavors include howling with his chihuahua Jack Jack. Jack Jack’s tone, intonation and rhythmic accuracy are far superior. Recent accomplishments include finally learning a recipe for Old Fashions that he is satisfied with. He found it on the side of a bottle of simple syrup.
There are a number of fine institutions of higher learning that would be very grateful if Travis would stop mentioning his association with them as a student or teacher. Travis is inspired by a quote from the great Mike Tyson: “I am tired of being stupid”. Daily, he tries to remember Benjamin Zander’s Rule #6: “Don’t take yourself so _______ seriously.”
